Solar System Hop Classroom Activity

Objective: Reinforce knowledge of planets and their order from the Sun while promoting physical activity and listening skills.

Materials:

• Milky Way Classroom Rug
• List of planet facts or trivia questions
• Small objects to represent each planet (optional)

Instructions:

1. Have children gather around the rug.
2. Assign each child a planet or space object from the rug.
3. Call out facts about the planets or ask trivia questions. For example:
   • "I'm the hottest planet in the solar system."
   • "I'm known as the Red Planet."
   • "I'm the largest planet in our solar system."
4. When a fact about their assigned planet is called, the child must hop to that spot on the rug.
