Classroom Activity: Circle Hop Spelling Game

This activity combines physical movement with spelling practice:

1. Assign each student a circle on the rug.
2. Call out a spelling word.
3. Students must spell the word by hopping from circle to circle, each hop representing a letter. They can move horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally.
4. If a student makes a mistake, they return to their starting circle and try again.
5. Once a student correctly spells the word by hopping, they can sit in their final circle.
6. Continue with new words until all students have completed a word.
7. For an added challenge, have students spell longer words that require them to use multiple rows or columns of circles.

This game encourages physical activity, reinforces spelling skills, and promotes spatial awareness as students plan their hopping route on the rug.
